On February 23, 2008, Cabela's will be hosting the 2nd Scout Challenge. For this event, all local Boy and Girl Scout troops have been invited to compete head to head with other troops in many different outdoor activities to win great Cabela's gear! Prizes include: Lensatic Compass, Columbia Cougar Flats II Tent, Cabela's Diamond Peak Hydration Pack, Cabela's All Pro Spin Cast Combo Fishing Rod, Magellan Triton 200 GPS System, Cabela's ArrowHawk Layered Foam Target, Cabela's Lexan Water Bottle, Cabela's Gift Cards, and more. Scouts will compete against one another in the following challenges: 1) Compass Orienteering 2) Tent Raising 3) Knot Tying Relay 4) GPS Reading 5) Casting Competition 6) Archery Skills 7) Outdoor Knowledge First through third place from each event will win points. The three troops with the most points at the end of the competition will win Cabela's Gift Cards valued at $300, $200, and $100. If you competed in the Scout Challenge last year, you know how much fun it was. If you didn't, this is a great opportunity for troop bonding and to show off the skills of your troop in various events! Cabela's is also going to award all participating Scouts with a Cabela's mini multi-tool and a troop discount for the entire day of February 23rd. I have attached the Cabela's 2nd Scout Challenge registration form and look forward to receiving it back from you .There is no cost to participate in this event, but troops must be registered by February 16.
